Prior to her current studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig with Carolin Widmann, Yukiko Uno completed her bachelor’s degree at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg with Pierre Amoyal and Rainer Schmidt, followed by a master’s degree at the Basel Music Academy with Rainer Schmidt. 

Born in Gifu, Japan in 1995, Yukiko is a permanent violinist with the Gewandhaus Orchestra. She has won several first prizes at international violin competitions in Europe and China.
