Liza Ferschtman, an internationally acclaimed violinist and recipient of the Dutch Music Prize, is celebrated for her versatile career as a soloist, chamber musician, and artistic innovator.
Violinist Liza Ferschtman is an internationally acclaimed musician whose steadily expanding career is as diverse as the music she chooses to perform, from Heinrich Biber’s Mystery Sonatas to the latest contemporary music.
Her collaborators include composers Sebastian Fagerlund, Robert Zuidam, Giya Kancheli, Vanessa Lann and Julia Wolfe. Equally at home as a chamber musician, she is a concert soloist and orchestral leader, as well as a much sought-after teacher.
Ferschtman also puts her creativity into practice as a repertoire designer. After 14 years as artistic director of the Delft Chamber Music Festival, she expanded the event into an annual multi-arts festival. She has also worked with the LeineRoebana dance company and the Dutch National Ballet.
Lisa Ferschtman was awarded the prestigious Dutch Music Prize in 2006. In 2021, she was awarded the Royal Order of Orange-Nassau in recognition of her work for Dutch culture.
