Limited number of excellent seats now on sale for the finals

A limited number of excellent seats has just been released for the finals of the 13th International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition, taking place on 27–29 May 2025. Held at the Helsinki Music Centre’s prestigious Concert Hall, the three final concerts have been in high demand. The final evening on 29 May is nearly sold out. This is a rare opportunity for the quickest buyers to secure premium seats for the most anticipated stage of the competition.

Out of 40 competitors, six will advance to the finals. Each finalist will perform as a soloist with both of Finland’s leading orchestras: the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra (HPO), conducted by Pekka Kuusisto, and the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra (FRSO), conducted by Dima Slobodeniouk.

The 2025 final repertoire highlights contemporary music. In addition to Jean Sibelius’s Violin Concerto, each finalist will perform a second, modern concerto of their choice from a shortlist curated by the competition’s Artistic Committee. The selected works are Graal théâtre (1994) by Kaija Saariaho, Violin Concerto I (2001) by Unsuk Chin, Violin Concerto (2002) by Oliver Knussen, and Violin Concerto No. 2 (2015) by Magnus Lindberg.
