
The Numerical Order Of The Competitors
Participants in the Sibelius Violin Competition will perform in drawn numerical order. Each of the 42 competitors has now been assigned a number that will follow them throughout the competition. The starter of the competition will be drawn in Ainola on 17 May.
The final order in which the contestants will appear will be determined by the number drawn for the starter, in numerical order. For example, if the starter is number 39, the following contestants will be numbers 40, 41, 42, 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.

The Competitors Will Be Accompanied By Five Top Pianists
In the first and second rounds of the XIII International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition, the competitors will perform solo works and pieces with a pianist. According to the rules, participants in the Sibelius Violin Competition can either bring their own pianist to the competition at their own expense or use the competition’s pianists.
The competition is pleased to present five top pianists working in this year’s competition: Kirill Kozlovski, Marko Hilpo, Mikael Kemppainen, Tuomas Turriago and Matilda Kärkkäinen.
