After receiving his bachelor’s degree from the New England Conservatory in 2022 under the tutelage of Donald Weilerstein, Jake Dongyoung Shim is currently studying in the Artist Diploma Programme at the Curtis Institute of Music with Ida Kavafian and Shmuel Ashkenasi.

Born in Seoul in 2001, Jake Dongyoung has gained professional experience as a soloist and violinist in various orchestras, as well as first prizes and other awards in various international competitions in Asia, Europe and the USA.
