Helsinki hosts three high-profile international competitions in 2022

This year Helsinki is offering a stage for not only one but three highly acclaimed competitions aimed at young artists all over the world. In addition to the Jean Sibelius Violin Competition, the Helsinki International Ballet Competition and the International Maj Lind Piano Competition invite young artists to show their skills on the best stages in Finland.
The competition year kicks off with The XII international Jean Sibelius Violin Competition held in Helsinki Music Centre from 18 to 29 May. The Helsinki International Ballet Competition for young dancers will be held from 31 May to 6 June in the magnificent setting of the Finnish National Opera and Ballet. The fifth international Maj Lind piano competition presents the talent of young classical pianists at the Helsinki Music Hall from 14 to 27 October.
The three competitions welcome young artists and the public to Helsinki to enjoy the competition year with the lead of violinist Minna Pensola, pianist Mackenzie Melemed and dancer Claire Teisseyre. Video is produced by Snacksize and created with the support of City of Helsinki.
